WHAT SERVICE DO YOU PROVIDE TO EARN YOUR COMMISSION?

Our commission remunerates us for the work that goes into generating interest for, and administrating hires at your location, including advertising it for free on London’s leading, largest, and best-regarded location agency website.  We market your location to our database of active production contacts, negotiate the fees and parameters of the shoot, and handle all the paperwork and payments on your behalf.

The important thing to remember about our commission is that we are only paid when we book a hire at your location – we are only successful when you are too!  We also always quote hire fees to you net, so you know you are happy with the amount you will receive.  You always have the absolute right to accept or decline shoots for any reason, including budget.

HOW/WHEN WILL I BE PAID?

In almost all cases, a production must pay us the full hire fee before the hire begins.  Unlike some other agencies, we do not have 30-day terms, and will pay you as quickly as possible – often before the crew set foot in your home.  We will issue you a purchase order to invoice against, and as soon as we have payment from production and your invoice, we will pay you.

DO I NEED SPECIAL INSURANCE?

In most cases, production’s insurance will protect you and your location against any claims arising from a shoot.  This insurance is called Public Liability Insurance; we ask all productions hiring our locations to have minimum PLI of £5million.  For additional peace of mind, it’s worth checking your own home insurance to see whether any loss or damage resulting from a hire would be covered.

WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING IS DAMAGED DURING THE SHOOT?

Although productions are careful, accidents can happen.  Our location hire agreements make it the production’s responsibility to reinstate your location as found, including paying for repairs where appropriate.  Every production also pays a damage deposit equal to 20% of the hire fee.

HOW MANY SHOOTS WILL I GET?

This is extremely difficult to predict!  Some of our popular family houses can handle 10 advert shoots a year; other residential locations might have 1 larger shoot from time to time.  We will always put your location forward for every brief for which it is suitable!  You can give your location the best chance of being hired by getting back to us quickly if we present you with an enquiry, and being flexible with availability and rates where appropriate.

HOW MANY AGENCIES SHOULD I REGISTER WITH?

We recognise the logic that the more location agencies you are registered with, the more hires you will potentially be put forward for, and that this can be a rewarding strategy for some locations.  We do, however, offer a select number of locations exclusive representation, which means benefitting from a more bespoke, enhanced management service.
